How to publish data on the SEED Map

On this page you’ll learn how to publish your spatial data on the SEED Map. We recommend providing geodatabase and layer file data for publishing.

For an introduction to publishing data to SEED visit Publish your data on SEED.

What is the SEED Map?

The SEED Map is our interactive, digital mapping tool. Use it to view, overlay and analyse thousands of open-source, environmental data layers across locations in NSW.

Spatial data tips

Symbology
  • Provide a layer file with specific or desired symbology
  • Share instructions with the SEED team about which attributes to display in a map tip.
File format
  • Avoid Shapefiles due to field name restrictions. The suggested format is feature classes in a file geodatabase.
Coordinate system
  • Vector data should be in GCS GDA 2020
  • Grid data should be in Lamberts Conic Conformal or MGA where applicable.
Topology
  • Validate the dataset’s topology to ensure accuracy
